The New Windsor Cornwall Optimist Club recognizes 7th grade student citizens within Heritage JHS in a program called:

Students of the Month

At our January and June Meetings we recognize one 7th Grade student for each month of the school year.  Our Sept., Oct., Nov., Dec., and Jan. students are honored at the Jan. Club Meeting.  The Feb., Mar., Apr., May, and June students are honored at the June Club Picnic traditionally held at
Chadwick Lake Park in Newburgh, NY.

The students receive a dinner and certificate in front of their parents and have their name engraved on a plaque located at Heritage JHS main lobby.
