The NWC Optimist club is a local sponsor and facilitator of the Optimist International’s Essay contest in our area. Each school year we award some local student an award for his/her essay of 400 to 500 words on an Optimist International chosen topic. This year (2010-11) the topic is:

Our clubs 2009/2010 Essay winner was Gillian C. DeRario of Suffern H.S. who will receive her medallion and award certificate on March 16, 2010 at our monthly club meeting. Be sure to check back here for photos of the 2009/2010 awards ceremony!
